I so enjoyed this! I loved reading the behind the scenes of how life is right now for you. In NZ we often don’t go back to work until this week...and a lot of people take this week off too for our summer break. I think we often start our new year in earnest part way through the month, if not in Feb. So this can be an especially tricky time for job hunting as people are away or don’t check their emails or still need to make their hiring plan for the year. Is it that way for you during your summer?

Summer here does slow down a bit with hiring overall and seems like folks are often on vacation, but the slowest by far I'd say is that end of year holiday season.
Spot in with your job search tips, especially #3. It's so easy to leak desperation and put too much emotional load onto your connections. Better to project an aura of control. In my experience, the cool cucumbers get more help from their connections than those who come across as needy or thirsty.
